About The Retail Survival Guide

The Retail Survival Guide was born out of a passion to help independent retailers and service providers. From new start up's to your Mom and Pop' store or that local family run business that's been trading for generations.

A lot has changed over the past 5 years during the global economic crisis and recession.

It's also difficult to keep up with the latest marketing opportunities. Sites like Facebook had 100 million users in 2008 compared to 1.5 billion users today.

Smart phones now account for more than 50% of  people accessing the internet. Mobile phones and tablet devices are driving the new economy. By following our guide, we will help position your business at the forefront of this change.

Our goal is to help your business not only survive, but thrive, so you can champion the local economy and help attract customers back into towns and cities to help increase your sales, cash flow and profits.

Stuart Murray, the founder of the retail survival guide, is no stranger to what it takes to run a local business. His Father, who is now retired, ran a coffee shop for 25 years in the days when milky coffee was exactly that and not Latte. As an online marketer Stuart has seen the emerging trands in mobile and is passionate in using technology to transform the way of doing things.

Stuart started his career in commercial property as a chartered surveyor but soon sought broarder horizons in the corporate sector, managing teams and IT consulting for both corporate and SME's. He has talent for seeing the relationships between seemingly complex problems and uses that to successfully bridge the gap between business and IT.
